Mission Statement

STATEMENT OF DUTIES
- Provides entry level case processing assistance and customer service via counter, telephone, and electronic means.
- Creates new cases, processes pleadings, accepts payments, and related work.
- Serves in a training capacity in all areas of more advanced responsibilities.

- Salary offers will align with the Colorado Judicial Department’s compensation step plan and are made based on several factors, including relevant experience, available budget, and compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
- Provision of complete work history ensures all relevant experience is considered in the salary offer determination process.

Essential Functions
- Assists customers with paperwork, answers questions, reviews court forms for completeness, and assigns case numbers.
- Receives and processes incoming correspondence via email, mail, e-filing, and in-person filings, and distribution.
- Serves as a liaison between division/Judicial Officer and customers, directs parties to correct location and/or divisions, de-escalates situations of stress or conflict, and explains court processes without providing legal advice.
- Trains within trial court/appellate court procedures.
- Issues orders and notices from the court, including orders regarding case deadlines, orders of extension of time, notices of new case filings, notices of oral argument, receipt of trial court records, and mandates returning authority to a trial court once case is complete.
- Ensures service to all necessary litigants and trial/appellate courts.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.
Physical Effort Requirements
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
