STATEMENT OF DUTIES

  • Assists customers with paperwork, answers questions, reviews court forms for completeness, and assigns case numbers.
  • Serves in a training capacity in all areas of more advanced responsibilities.
  • Receives and processes incoming correspondence via email, mail, e-filing, and in-person filings, and distribution.
  • Serves as a liaison between division/Judicial Officer and customers, directing parties to correct locations and/or divisions, de-escalating situations of stress or conflict, and explaining court processes without providing legal advice.
  • Trains within trial court/appellate court procedures.
  • Issues orders and notices from the court, including orders regarding case deadlines, orders of extension of time, notices of new case filings, notices of oral argument, receipt of trial court records, and mandates returning authority to a trial court once case is complete.
  • Ensures service to all necessary litigants and trial/appellate courts.
  • Completes required trainings and attends meetings as requested.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.

Human Collaboration

Work requires regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of information. Interactions have limited impact. Freedom to act and impact of actions are moderate.

Fiscal Responsibility

May be responsible for the billing, collection and/or accounting of funds. May be responsible for the handling and balancing of cash.

Physical Effort Requirements

Erecting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Work Environment

Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Work Location: Office or similar indoor environment. Exposures: None.
