JR087 Senior Project Manager
About the role
Rycon Construction is an employee-owned company (ESOP) providing construction management, general contracting, design-build, and program management services nationwide. An ENR Top 400 Contractor, ENR Top 100 Green Contractor, and BD+C Top 150 Contractor with nine offices, Rycon specializes in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. Projects span various sectors including aviation, healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, student housing, food service/dining, data centers/mission critical, retail, financial, self-storage, government/municipality, and LEED facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update the master project schedule monthly in collaboration with the Superintendent
- Conduct constructability reviews and collaborate with Estimators on alternate construction means and methods, site logistics, general requirements, hoisting systems, and staffing requirements
- Participate in preconstruction meetings with Owner/Architect, monitoring document design and development, establishing goals and milestones, and overseeing project development within budget and schedule
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders
- Assign project team responsibilities, establish administrative procedures, develop performance goals, and ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Develop effective communication mechanisms and conflict resolution strategies among project participants
- Support in recruiting, training, and mentoring new employees
- Ensure compliance with company processes and technology utilization
- Manage accounting functions and budget, prepare schedule of values, implement billing process, expedite Owner payments, and establish positive cash flow
- Prepare and submit owner Change Order Requests, review owner Change Orders, and update Job Cost Budget
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly Project Status Reports, identify and manage risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation and capture strategies
- Regularly monitor construction progress, hold status meetings with subcontractors
- Manage Subcontractor performance, provide notices, and take corrective actions for any issues
- Prepare detailed Project Information/Close-Out Forms and Photography for the Marketing Database
Requirements
- Minimum of ten (10) + years’ experience in managing commercial projects valued at $25 million and up
- Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong decision making/problem solving skills
- Comfortable public speaking ability
- Understanding of contracts and risk management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in excess of $35 million
- Bi-lingual is a plus
