JR087 Senior Project Manager

About the role

Rycon Construction is an employee-owned company (ESOP) providing construction management, general contracting, design-build, and program management services nationwide. Projects span various sectors including aviation, healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, student housing, food service/dining, data centers/mission critical, retail, financial, self-storage, government/municipality, and LEED facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update the master project schedule monthly in collaboration with the Superintendent
• Conduct constructability reviews and collaborate with Estimators on alternate construction means and methods, site logistics, general requirements, hoisting systems, and staffing requirements
• Participate in preconstruction meetings with Owner/Architect, monitoring document design and development, establishing goals and milestones, and overseeing project development within budget and schedule
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders
• Assign project team responsibilities, establish administrative procedures, develop performance goals, and ensure compliance with contract requirements
• Develop effective communication mechanisms and conflict resolution strategies among project participants
• Support in recruiting, training, and mentoring new employees
• Ensure compliance with company processes and technology utilization
• Manage accounting functions and budget, prepare schedule of values, implement billing process, expedite Owner payments, and establish positive cash flow
• Prepare and submit owner Change Order Requests, review owner Change Orders, and update Job Cost Budget
• Prepare and submit accurate monthly Project Status Reports, identify and manage risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation and capture strategies
• Regularly monitor construction progress, hold status meetings with subcontractors
• Manage Subcontractor performance, provide notices, and take corrective actions for any issues
• Prepare detailed Project Information/Close-Out Forms and Photography for the Marketing Database

Requirements

• Minimum of ten (10) + years’ experience in managing commercial projects valued at $25 million and up
• Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong decision making/problem solving skills
• Comfortable public speaking ability
• Understanding of contracts and risk management
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in excess of $35 million
• Bi-lingual is a plus
