About the role
KBR MTS is dedicated to improving operational readiness and driving innovation for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, NASA, and other federal agencies. As a Jr. System Engineer, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to design, develop, and research interfaces, ensuring all subsystems are properly integrated into a fully viable, completed system.
Responsibilities
- Support end-user needs by identifying, investigating, and resolving system issues related to space systems
- Collaborate with analysts, project leads, and customers to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability
- Aid in developing system requirements and specifications aligned with High-Level Mission objectives
- Participate in trade studies to identify improvements in system performance, architecture, and software/hardware solutions
- Contribute to engineering tradeoff analyses and assist in formulating Courses of Action (COAs) that consider operational constraints
- Gather information to create technical documents that support project deliverables
- Stay updated on agency, national, and international standards related to space systems development to ensure compliance and integration
- Support throughout the systems engineering life cycle, managing risks and developing mitigation plans to guarantee mission success
- Track project activities for systems engineering, software/hardware development, and deployment, ensuring effective command and control integration
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize ground processing and mission management practices
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to successfully obtain a CI Polygraph
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Understanding of planning and integrating secure solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives
- Familiarity with development of requirements for system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security for mid-to-large-scale systems

- Basic Compensation: $92,100.00-$112,600.00 (El Segundo, CA), $88,100.00-$107,600.00 (King of Prussia, PA), $92,100.00-$112,600.00 (Chantilly, VA), $80,100.00-$97,800.00 (Beavercreek, OH), $80,100.00-$97,800.00 (San Antonio, TX), $76,100.00-$93,000.00 (Clearfield, UT)
