About the Operations Americas (AC) team

The Operations AC team is part of the Operations Department and is divided over two regions: North America and Latin America with three locations: Houston (USA), Providence (USA), and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The Providence team currently consists of 2 Operations Project Managers, 2 Field Maintenance Technicians, 1 Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator, and 2 Crewing Coordinators. In this role, you are reporting to the Operations Area Manager North America based in Providence.

About the role

As Junior Operations Project Manager, you are the internal and external point of contact for projects in your region where an Ampelmann system is deployed offshore. For each project, you are responsible for the entire project cycle, from preparation through close-out. Your goal is to deliver projects safely, on time, within scope and budget, resulting in satisfied clients and successful operations. You achieve this by optimizing project execution, building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, visiting operational sites, and ensuring accurate project administration.

As a Jr. Operations Project Manager, you will have a high degree of responsibility from day one, but you will receive extensive on-the-job training in your first year and coaching while gradually taking ownership of projects and developing into an independent project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Managing daily project operations and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of your projects.
  • Preparing, coordinating, and executing (de)mobilisations of systems, attending offshore trials, and performing satisfactory client visits.
  • Analysing operational challenges, identifying root causes, and preparing and implementing practical solutions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Setting up project plans and taking ownership of all project administration activities, including budgeting, purchasing, logistics coordination, and invoicing.
  • Occasionally getting your hands dirty, e.g., working in coveralls at a yard, warehouse, or operational location to support project preparations and gain practical insight into the operation.

Requirements

  • Higher Vocational Education/BSc/MSc degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Maritime Studies, Physics, or Technical Business Administration) and 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel (20-40% of the work is performed on-site), when participating in training programmes, project visits, and operational support activities.
  • Affinity with project management and confidence working with a wide variety of stakeholders in an international environment.
  • Analytical skills, a high degree of responsibility, and the ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.

Benefits

  • Yearly gross salary between USD 57,370 and USD 81,958, based on your experience.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Hardship allowances.
  • Paid overtime.
  • Pension plan (401K).
  • Health insurance.
  • Unlimited vacation days.
  • Working from Home policy.
  • Ampelmann Academy for all your personal and professional development needs.

A great work environment with innovative and change-willing aspirations, a high degree of responsibility, room to grow, and room to have significant impact.
