Responsibilities
- Assist Interior designers on larger design projects.
- Lead the project life cycle of smaller independent model home projects including furniture presentation, purchasing, and specification package development (in coordination with the Mer).
- Attend design presentation meetings, frame walks, and final model walks as required.
- Track furniture orders for Interior Designers and independent projects as assigned.
- Communicate with installation partners to ensure successful installs and manage follow-up items as needed.
- Aid Merchandising Manager and Director on special design projects as necessary.
- Collect project costs and assist with preparation of final budgets for submittal to Merchandising Manager.
- Attend model installations as required.
- Stay updated on current design trends and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in Interior Design required.
- Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) on Macintosh platform.
- Basic understanding of California Building and ADA codes preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Excellent work ethic, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Copes well under pressure and accepts constructive feedback.
- California Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted.
- Moderate regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) required.
Qualifications
- Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job.
- The ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds.
- The Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment.
- Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
Skills
- Knowledge of current design trends and practices.
