About the role
We are seeking a Junior Interior Designer to support healthcare interior design projects in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior designers and project managers with interior design services, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and VA guidelines.
- Support project planning from concept development to installation, including preparing construction documents, finish schedules, furniture plans, and material boards.
- Coordinate FF&E planning, procurement, and installation, along with finish selections for healthcare environments.
- Develop and maintain finish schedules, room data sheets, material libraries, and design documentation.
- Support space planning to optimize patient care, operational efficiency, and accessibility.
- Participate in site visits, field verification, punch walks, and installation inspections to ensure design quality.
- Assist in project activation activities, including furniture installation and occupancy preparations.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and facility staff throughout project development.
- Support multidisciplinary meetings related to facility planning, safety, infection prevention, and healthcare trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field.
- 1–3 years of professional interior design experience; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of space planning, finishes, furniture systems, and building codes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to conduct site visits and inspections, learn VA standards, and support project documentation.
- Must meet federal credentialing and background investigation requirements.
