About the role
As a Junior Field Service Engineer, you will provide services that range in scope from performing standard maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and calibration of Waygate Technologies equipment: Phoenix 2D & 3D CT X-ray testing machine hardware and software products at Waygate and customer locations. Travel is expected in excess of 70%. After completing a rigorous technical training program, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial X-ray systems and supporting peripheral equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and install industrial X-ray systems and supporting peripheral equipment, such as: X-ray tubes, generators, coolers, scanners, stepper motors/controllers, power supplies, high voltage control circuits, motion control, and high-end PCs.
- Provide customers with technical support via phone and onsite service.
- Complete standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements in a timely manner.
- Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality service standards.
- Monitor site safety during work scope execution.
Requirements
- Four-year technical degree in Electronics (BSEET, BSEE) or Mechanics (BSMET, BSME), or equivalent experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. and frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, driving record, and educational background.
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time for work.
- Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain a passport).
- Current valid U.S. citizenship status.
- Must live within drivable distance of an airport.
Schedule
- 70% or more travel, with paid travel time and overtime for work exceeding 8 hours per day.
