Responsibilities
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of various electrical systems, failing equipment, transformers, circuit breakers, switches, switchgears, and instrument transformers across different voltage levels (500kV to 13.8kV).
- Absorb and promote Rising Edge Group's Health and Safety Manual alongside industry safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Electrician Apprentices, assisting them in technical issue resolution and safe work practices.
- Conduct inspections and testing of high voltage electrical equipment to ensure compliance with maintenance standards and documentation.
- Lead the planning and installation of ground grids, power system assemblies, and wiring.
- Execute substation equipment maintenance aligned with industry and company standards.
- Maintain familiarity with hazards associated with working near energized equipment and ensure safe work practices are prioritized.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in substation work.
- In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Occupational Safety and Health and Administration regulations as they relate to the Electrician role.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based test equipment is beneficial.
- Compliance with pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
- Ability to work comfortably at heights.
- Willingness and ability to travel for work, including remote sites.
- Capability to perform tasks in adverse weather conditions.
