Journeyman or Master Electrician Inspector Trainee

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for overseeing building inspections, enforcing local building codes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building inspections to ensure compliance with local and state building codes
• Enforce building codes and regulations to maintain safe living conditions
• Review construction plans and permits to ensure they meet safety and code requirements
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers on building code compliance
• Respond to complaints and conduct investigations related to building code violations
• Prepare reports and documentation related to building inspections and code enforcement activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with building inspection software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of construction materials and techniques
