Journeyman Electrician Inspector Trainee

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, conducting inspections, and issuing permits.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Conduct routine and special inspections to ensure adherence to building codes and safety standards.
• Issue and manage building permits, including reviewing applications and approving or denying requests based on code compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers regarding building codes and safety regulations.
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code violations and assist in resolving issues.
• Participate in public meetings and provide input on zoning and land use policies.
• Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations and implement updates as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Experience with building permit processing and issuance.
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
