Journeyman Millwright
About the role
As a Millwright, you will install, assemble, dismantle, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to specifications. Millwrights use precision tools and processes to ensure that the machinery is installed and working correctly and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines. Responsibilities
- Work with industry-specific and complex precision machines, including but not limited to exhaust fans, generators, hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, compressors, etc.
- Use precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles, material thickness, and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, optical instruments, and other tools.
- Fit bearings, align gears and wheels, attach motors, and connect belts according to manufacturer’s blueprints and drawings.
- Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, exhaust fan blades, and pump systems.
- Fabricate and install parts, equipment, and machinery by measuring, cutting, drilling, and/or welding.
- Unload, inspect, move, and set equipment into position using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Adhere to all safety rules.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have all Journeyman Precision Millwright hand tools.
- Minimum 4–5 years of industrial construction/maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of Millwright experience.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
Preferred
- Experience with industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings, and engineering specifications, and understand how to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures.
- Experience using industrial hand tools and power tools.
- Must have all Journeyman Precision Millwright hand tools.

Work Environment
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1–50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
- Walking in uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day.
- Standing, sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Driving if required to travel.
- Able to pass preliminary and periodic drug testing.
- Outside most of the time.
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
