Journeyman Heavy-Duty Mechanic Careers

About the role

New Age Motors is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. We are offering full-time employment in a clean, organized, new, and well-maintained shop in the Leduc business park.

Responsibilities

• Performing quality repairs and preventative maintenance services on medium/Heavy duty trucks and various types of trailers.
• Ensuring repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner.
• Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.
• Performing fault diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures and concerns.
• Ensuring service documentation is completed as per instructions.
• Completing inspections on equipment and coordinating with staff on repairs.
• Training and/or assisting other technicians or apprentices with their work.
• Assisting in shop cleanup and housekeeping.
• Performing CVIP and Maintenance Inspections.
• Providing general customer service.

Requirements

• Red seal certificate.
• Strong experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Diesel engine experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a repair shop atmosphere.
• Ability to work well with other mechanics.
• Equipment experience.
• CVIP License would be a great asset.
• Knowledge in CVIPs, Trailers, Air & Electric Brakes.
• Ability to mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

• HET Journeyman License (required).
• 5 years of experience as a heavy duty mechanic (required).

Pay and Schedule

• Pay: $42.00-$48.00 per hour.
• Additional pay: Overtime pay.
• Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday.
