Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various State Parks to perform construction and maintenance projects
- Work with park staff to provide care and maintenance of park assets
- Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints or working drawings
- Performs general facility maintenance including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical as well as general cleaning and sanitation
Qualifications
- Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Has a CDL (Class A) License or obtain one within 6 months of hire. Must have a valid driver's license.
- Travel is required.
- Previous experience with general maintenance activities
- Knowledge of principles and practices of facility operations, construction and maintenance
- Knowledge of general construction, building construction
- Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Use power tools such as band saws, rip saws, planers, etc.
- Principles and practices of construction
- Principles, theories, and practices of electricity
- Follow written and/or oral instructions
- Use and maintain a variety of hand tools
- Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
- Operation and Maintenance of heavy equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, tractors, and excavators
- May be called out for emergency situations
