About the role

The Joint SOF Trainer provides training and exercise support to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the activities required to execute the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities required to execute the JELC.
  • Support entities such as USSOCOM Battle staff, Geographical Combatant Commands, Exercises, Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC), and Partner Nations.
  • Work in moderate noise environments and occasionally in loud noise environments.
  • Drive vehicles in various environments, including city, highway, and rural roads.
  • Occasionally travel to remote overseas locations for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF OR Associate’s degree with 15 years experience in SOF OR prior (E8-E9, CW4-CW5, O4-O6) with 15 years experience in SOF.
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 10 years of operational-strategic special operations experience.
  • 4 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs within the past 8 years.
  • 4 years of experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management).
  • 4 years of experience in joint operations and operational-strategic level SOF planning and operations.
  • 4 years of experience in the Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP).
  • 4 years of experience directly interfacing with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at the TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, Interagency.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license (proof of which will be required after hire) and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record.
  • Able to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.

Qualifications

  • Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF, an Associate’s degree with 15 years experience in SOF, or prior (E8-E9, CW4-CW5, O4-O6) with 15 years experience in SOF.
