Joint SOF Trainer (Operations and Planning) IV - NAVSOF Coronado

About the role

The Joint SOF Trainer supports the NAVSOF located at NAB Coronado, CA. They plan, direct, and coordinate the activities required to execute the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC).

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities required to execute the JELC.
• Support the USSOCOM Battle staff, Geographical Combatant Commands, Exercises, TSOC, and Partner Nations.
• Interface with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, and Interagency.
• Show outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF //OR// Associate’s degree with 15 years experience working in SOF //OR// prior (E8-E9, CW4-CW5, O4-O6) with 15 years experience working in SOF.
• Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Minimum 10 years of operational-strategic special operations experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs within the past 8 years.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in joint operations and operational-strategic level SOF planning and operations.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP).
• Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.
• Valid driver’s license (proof of which will be required after hire) and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record.
• Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.

Qualifications

Pay

$95,000 - $115,000

Schedule

Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment). Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Ability to work in confined areas. Ability to work in remote and rural environments.
