About the role
The Joint SOF Trainer supports the SOCNORTH Exercise and Training Branch, providing training and exercise support to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities required to execute the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC).
- Support USSOCOM Battle staff, Geographical Combatant Commands, Exercises, Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC), and Partner Nations.
- Work in moderate noise environments, occasionally in loud noise environments (airfield, large equipment).
- Drive vehicles in various road conditions (CONUS and OCONUS).
- Travel up to 49% of the time, including extended periods in remote overseas locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF or Associate’s degree with 15 years experience in SOF.
- Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
- 10 years of operational-strategic special operations experience.
- 4 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs within the past 8 years.
- 4 years of experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management).
- 4 years of experience in joint operations and operational-strategic level SOF planning and operations.
- 4 years of experience in the Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP).
- 4 years of experience directly interfacing with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at the TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, Interagency.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record.
- Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years experience in SOF or Associate’s degree with 15 years experience in SOF.
