Join Us for Our Popular Off Shore Sailing Events

The Whitsunday Sailing Club offers a variety of sailing experiences:

• Crew Group Chat: WSC crew members are encouraged to join the group chat on WhatsApp to connect with skippers who need crew. Skippers can message available crew members directly.
• SailPASS Membership: Non-members can join for a day (or more) of sailing through the SailPASS program. Access and insurance are provided, but a boat/crew position must be arranged beforehand. Request your SailPASS below or scan the QR code.
• Offshore Racing: The club hosts a diverse offshore racing calendar with weekend races approximately twice a month. Different courses include long and short offshore races, bay races, and major series races for both cruising and racing yachts. Races are divided into three divisions based on boat type and performance.
• Twilight Racing: Newcomers and crew members can participate in Twilight races or weekend races. Arrive at the club around 3:00 PM on Wednesdays, as spots are limited.
• Club Championship: The title of Club Champion is awarded annually to the boat that performs the best in each division over a nine-race series. Results are calculated using a fixed handicap or rating system.
• Challengers Cup: A six-race series held on Sundays throughout the season. These races are usually bay races lasting approximately two hours.
• Offshore Series: Up to nine races conducted throughout the year, lasting longer than typical races and taking place around the Whitsundays.
• Summer and Winter Series: Weekend club racing is divided into a Summer Series (January to June) and a Winter Series (July to December).
• Cruising Events: The club hosts and participates in an array of cruising events that navigate the stunning waters of the Whitsundays, offering adventures in hidden coves and beautiful destinations.
• Inter-Club Events: Various events are organized in collaboration with neighboring clubs, including the Mackay Sailing Club, Cruising Yacht Club of Hamilton Island, and North Queensland Cruising Yacht Club.
• Cruise Rallies: Regular, non-competitive cruise rallies for both non-racing and racing boats, perfect for families or groups.
• Airlie Beach Race Week: The Airlie Beach Race Week Festival of Sailing (ABRW) is a dynamic week of activities featuring six days of offshore yacht racing and seven nights of social events and entertainment. For more information, visit www.abrw.com.au.
