Responsibilities

• Join the Crew Group Chat on WhatsApp to connect with skippers who need crew members.
• Communicate availability and interests within the group chat.
• Respond to messages from interested skippers to arrange sailing opportunities.

Requirements

• Must be a member of the Whitsunday Sailing Club.
• Willingness to communicate and coordinate with other members.
• Basic sailing knowledge and ability to operate a boat.

• No specific qualifications required beyond being a member of the club.

Off The Beach Championship Racing

• Monthly racing sessions once a month.
• More relaxed and light-hearted racing option.

Before racing begins each day

• A briefing is held to discuss the course, weather conditions, and key rules or tactical considerations.
• Racing typically consists of a series of three short races per day.
• Between races, sailors have a brief window to refresh, rehydrate, and review their performance.
• Boats are packed away, followed by time to relax and debrief on the day's racing.

Learn to Sail Courses

• Conducted throughout the year using Australian Sailing’s Discover Sailing programs.

Non-Member Sailing

• SailPASS membership allows non-members to join us for a day (or more) of sailing at Whitsunday Sailing Club.
• This pass provides access and insurance to sail only if you already have a boat/crew position arranged.
• To request your SailPASS, fill out the form or scan the QR code with your phone or tablet.
