About the Role

We're looking for a pet sitter and dog walker to join our team, providing exceptional care and ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients' beloved pets in the comfort of their own homes. If you have a genuine love for pets and are committed to outstanding care, this role offers a flexible schedule that fits your lifestyle.

Our schedules can be unpredictable and vary depending on the month. This job is meant to provide supplementary income, and we cannot guarantee a specific amount of income each week. You must reside in our service area to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs of all sizes and administer medication to dogs and cats as needed
• Check the overall status of a client's home to ensure it's safe and secure
• Maintain cleanliness by scooping litter and cleaning up occasional potty accidents
• Water plants and maintain open communication with office staff and clients
• Send detailed visit reports with photos through our app after every visit
• Cater to each pet's unique needs, whether it's fetch, walks, or simply being present

Requirements

• Experience with and genuine love for animals
• High integrity and character — someone who doesn't cut corners
• Available to work some or all significant holidays and surrounding days
• Comfortable entering clients' homes and visiting pets of all varieties
• Willingness to scoop litter and pick up after pets
• Strong communication skills to keep clients and team members informed
• Reliable, dependable, detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Enjoys working independently but can follow directions and work as a team
• Capable of handling all types of dogs, cats, and other household pets
• Able to walk or drive to multiple visits per day in various weather conditions
• Access to a reliable car, valid driver's license, and current insurance
• Smartphone with good skills and daily internet access
• 18+ years old and willing to submit to a criminal background check
• Must reside within The Purr-fect Paw service area

Pay

• 15 Minute Visit: $6 per visit
• 30 Minute Visit: $8 per visit
• 45 Minute Visit: $10 per visit
• Plus $0.25 per mile reimbursement (tax-free)

Example: A 2-hour workday with 3 visits (30 minutes each) and 20 miles driven totals $29 for ~90 minutes of work, before tips.

• Holiday Bonus: $5 extra per visit on all holidays
• Next-Day Request: $5 extra per visit when accepted
• Same-Day Request: $10 extra per visit when accepted

You'll receive 4 separate raises within your first year:

• First Raise (1–4 months): +$0.50 per visit
• Second Raise (5–8 months): +$0.50 per visit
• Third Raise (9–12 months): +$1.00 per visit
• Yearly Raise (Max 4 years): +$0.10/mile gas reimbursement per year

Schedule

We offer multiple time frames throughout the day, with our earliest window between 6:00 AM–9:00 AM and our latest window from 8:00 PM–11:00 PM. This role is ideal for those seeking a flexible schedule, such as teachers, college students, or anyone looking to earn extra income.
