About the role
The Service Manager oversees the Service Department at C & B Operations' John Deere Dealership in Sibley, IA. Key responsibilities include maximizing customer satisfaction, growing service labor sales, controlling expenses, attracting and retaining top talent, and motivating employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage service operations to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Own department performance, budgets, and goals aligned with company objectives.
- Execute service marketing plans and coordinate customer events, clinics, and field days.
- Oversee warranty and product program claims to ensure timely submission and maximum recovery.
- Schedule, assign, and manage workloads based on technician skill sets and capacity.
- Review work orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper billing.
- Train, develop, and evaluate service personnel; ensure training compliance and certifications.
- Manage fleet, tools, equipment, inventory, and shop organization.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with DOT and regulatory standards.
- Stay current on John Deere and competitive products.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in a service department; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
- Experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Experience with off road, construction, lawn, or other AG heavy equipment.
- Valid Drivers License and a safe driving record.
