Service Manager, AG
About the role
An experienced, safety-minded leader is needed to manage the AG Service Department. Duties include leading operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity, managing a diverse workforce, assisting customers and technicians, overseeing technician performance, promoting safety, and performing other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Manage shop personnel and provide leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by demonstrating strong customer communication skills.
- Aid customers and technicians with repairs, defining work scopes, and assisting with quoting, opening, closing, and invoicing work orders.
- Oversee technician productivity and performance, conducting annual reviews, and administering disciplinary action when necessary.
- Promote safety in the workplace and lead technical and professional development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two to four-year college degree in business or two years of previous service supervisory experience.
- Basic knowledge of diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, and undercarriage systems.
- Preferred knowledge of AGCO and Lexion Equipment and Technical Training.
- Ability to express ideas and influence others positively to achieve long-term goals.
- Proficient in writing professional business communications via email or letter.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to work some Saturdays.
- Physical ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, including no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed, and may occasionally require local travel.
