JOB VACANCY - LABORATORY SUPERVISOR

About the role

Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory to ensure continuous and quality output, including performing sample testing when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of work schedules to provide coverage and effective utilization of the workforce.
• Ensure an effective, ongoing safety program in the laboratory.
• Operate the laboratory in accordance with company policies and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
• Ensure the validity and accuracy of test results and maintain quality control across all workstations.
• Develop, modify, verify, and validate testing methods, and provide necessary staff training.
• Monitor inventory control to ensure an adequate supply of materials at all times.
• Provide technical assistance and ongoing development for laboratory personnel while fostering a balanced and healthy workplace.
• Manage staff training and equipment maintenance.
• Assist in subcontracting work.
• Evaluate new instruments and recommend purchases.
• Set up new testing methods and provide necessary training for staff.

Requirements

• Laboratory skills relevant to bunker fuel testing.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with equipment used in a bunker fuel testing laboratory.
• Good communication skills.
