About the Role

The Huntsville, AL plant is seeking a Manufacturing Operator who is action-oriented, can make quality decisions quickly, and possesses excellent troubleshooting skills. The successful candidate will be trained in all facets of production, including pre-mixing, material loading for batches, filling product into shipping containers, distribution, testing, sampling, and cleaning. The role requires operating production equipment safely to ensure high quality and correct quantity in accordance with production schedules, standard operating procedures, and supervisory instructions.

Operators will understand the mechanics of various types of equipment, such as labelers, filler machines, air pumps, high-speed dispersers, air mixers, and weight scales. Duties may change regularly based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe working manner, following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Blend batches to designated formulas and record all adjustments made to batches.
  • Fill-off batches and ensure the work area is cleaned up upon completion.
  • Follow batch fill-out instructions related to filtering, straining, container requirements, agitation, and labeling.
  • Select approved batches for filling based on ship date or supervisor instructions.
  • Set up and operate filtering and filling equipment per batch ticket instructions.
  • Operate PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).
  • Maintain housekeeping and control waste generation.
  • Operate powered material handling equipment (PMHE) to move, store, load, and unload hazardous finished products.
  • Load and unload bulk materials.
  • Solve routine problems associated with job responsibilities.
  • Ensure the highest product quality while adhering to safety, environmental, and work rules.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing (plant or industrial) experience.
  • Experience with chemical mixing or batch making is highly preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (no exceptions).
  • Math and problem-solving skills, with mechanical, numerical, and verbal aptitude to learn jobs quickly.
  • Ability to read and follow weight fractions of ounces and measure accurately by gallons, pints, and ounces (strong math skills).
  • Ability to be licensed to operate fork trucks.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work within a self-managed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemical plant or paint-making experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Prior experience operating fork trucks.

Schedule

Training will be conducted on 1st shift. After training, the role will transition to 2nd shift: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Pay

$22.00 per hour.
