About the role

The English Department at Georgia College and State University is hiring an open-rank scholar specializing in American literature, with a focus on contemporary and Southern literature.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses such as Introduction to American Literature and Flannery O’Connor
• Develop new courses in American and Southern literature
• Edit the Flannery O’Connor Review
• Perform administrative duties, including managing the journal, overseeing graduate assistants, and handling financial matters
• Collaborate with campus entities related to O’Connor’s legacy, including the Flannery O’Connor Institute and Andalusia Farm

Requirements

• Doctorate in American literature
• Teaching experience across various course levels
• Strong record of scholarly publication
