Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage a variety of ocular conditions and diseases.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments.
  • Provide patient education regarding eye health and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
  • A current license to practice optometry in your state.
  • At least 3 years of recent, relevant work experience in eye care.
  • Experience with managing common ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Passing scores on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and equipment used in eye care.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records and other technology tools.
