Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments.
- Provide patient education regarding eye health and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers.
Requirements
- A Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
- A current license to practice optometry in your state.
- At least 3 years of recent, relevant work experience in eye care.
- Experience with managing common ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Passing scores on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).
- Knowledge of clinical procedures and equipment used in eye care.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and other technology tools.
