Job Coach (Part-Time)

About the role

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. The Job Coach uses best practices and technology within a community-based employment setting to supervise and train individuals with developmental disabilities on acquiring skills needed for successful employment, including specific job tasks, work routines, and personal life activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals independent job skills and requirements using job task analysis, job-specific supports, assistive technology, and personal assistance.
• Work side-by-side with individuals at the job site, analyzing job requirements and breaking them into manageable components for teaching.
• Build a support network between the individual and community members.
• Communicate the individual’s progress to employers, family, residential staff, and other professionals.
• Accurately complete all required documentation.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ full-time work experience in employment or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to analyze a job and break it into manageable components.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation.
• Ability to present ideas and factual data clearly and concisely.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks.
