About the role
The Job Coach at Community Options, Inc. provides supervision and training to individuals with developmental disabilities to acquire job skills and work routines.
Responsibilities
- Teach individuals independent job skills using job task analysis and job-specific supports, including assistive technology and personal assistance.
- Work side-by-side with individuals at the job site, analyzing job requirements and breaking them into manageable components.
- Build a support network between the individual and community members.
- Communicate individual’s progress to the employer and support people, including family, residential staff, and other professionals.
- Accurately complete all documentation.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ full-time work experience in employment or related field.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to analyze a job and break it into manageable components.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation.
- Ability to present ideas and factual data in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals.
- Read and write English.
