Job Coach / Direct Support Trainer
About the role
We are a day program in South Orange County providing individualized support to adults with disabilities. The main goal is to assist in the development of various everyday life skills necessary for our participants to become and maintain an active part of the community. Our program aids with volunteer opportunities, vocational training, and support to obtain paid employment if desired.
Job Responsibilities
- Works with participants at a 1:3 ratio.
- Transport participants in the community and comply with company driving policy.
- Maintain confidential records of daily activities and personal information for each participant.
- Comply with participant’s rights and principles.
- Maintain excellent communication with participants, their families, residential providers, any necessary outside agencies, other employee’s, supervisory staff, and community members.
- Support participants in job or volunteer opportunities.
- Promote and demonstrate teamwork with other staff and management.
- Be a good role model for participants ALWAYS!!!
Job Requirements
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- CA Driver's License
- Reliable Vehicle
Compensation
$17.25 - $20.00 per hour
About ABLE
Our mission is to provide high quality community-based services to adults with developmental disabilities. All services will be person centered and aide in the development of various skills necessary to become and maintain an active participant in their community. Our program will aid with volunteer opportunities, vocational training of their choice, and support to obtain paid employment if desired. Individuals will be empowered to take responsibility for their own needs and desires with confidence as part of their daily routine with support and guidance from staff.
With ongoing support every participant can obtain the skills necessary to succeed. They will learn and understand the importance of safety awareness, healthy relationships with appropriate boundaries, community integration, self-advocacy and self-care. Our staff will advocate for and respect personal choices while facilitating individualized supports necessary for consumers to remain an active part of their community.
