Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support and supervision during work-related programming, including but not limited to STEP or other work programs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters pertaining to students and personnel.
- Maintain professional relationships with all businesses and act as liaison for SASED for all job sites.
- Model and direct appropriate work site behavior, dress, interactions with employer, other employees, and customers.
- Adapt work/homework under the direction of the teacher/supervisor for the purpose of providing a method to support and/or reinforce classroom and work objectives.
- Administer surveys, assessments, etc. under the direction of the teacher/supervisor for the purpose of assessing the student's progress toward work goals and/or recognizing the needs of individual students.
- Monitor, escort and assist individual students to provide a safe and positive learning and working environment.
- Absorb and implement Individual Education Programs for students with varying functional levels.
- Operate all equipment related to assistive technology, prone standers, walkers, related OT and PT devices and other items as required.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programs for students with varying functional levels.
- Transport and assist with supervision for the safety of students while loading and unloading buses/vans for daily transport to and from job sites.
- Work closely with classroom teachers and parents to communicate timely information to ensure an efficient and supportive learning environment for students.
- Assist with an uninterrupted learning environment when substitutes are present.
