About the role
The Employment Coach at Chrysalis provides customized employment services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them find and succeed in jobs. The role involves communication, job search planning, job development, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the individual's team and employer
- Punctuality and consistent attendance are required
- Follow coaching techniques to promote individual independence
- Build professional relationships with employers
- Create opportunities for individuals to improve their work environment
- Support individuals' choices through Discovery and implement Person Centered Plans (PCSP)
- Complete necessary administrative tasks and documentation
- Support problem-solving processes by coaching the employer and individual
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years old
- Pass a criminal background check
- Eligible to drive according to Chrysalis policy
- Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English
- High school Diploma or GED
Experience or Education
- Workplace supports training/certification and continued education
- Annual CPR, First Aid, OSHA, and SOAR training
- Annual Human Rights, Abuse Neglect, Maltreatment, and Exploitation Training
- Food Handler's Permit
- T.B. test
- Any other required training assigned by Chrysalis
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understand policies and follow the Provider Code of Conduct/Abuse Neglect, Exploitation, Maltreatment Policy
- Excellent public relations skills
- Ability to work successfully unsupervised
- Develops and maintains regular business contacts in the community
- Uses customized employment techniques, including Discovery and PCSP
- Manages multiple time demands balancing a case load of 8-15 individuals
- Acts as a liaison in the community to ensure smooth transition and continuity of service
- Displays integrity, trust, and follows through in all interactions
- Fulfills established safety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation process and services
- Works effectively within a team to enhance service delivery while respecting privacy and confidentiality
- Maintains documentation of services provided
Pay
This position pays at a starting rate of $16.25 per hour.
