Job Coach
About the role
The Job Coach position is essential for teaching PACE students' employment skills and assisting them in developing a work ethic. The Job Coach will develop and maintain relationships with internship partners.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct instruction to students at their internship sites.
- Teaches up to three functional academic courses per term related to employment, employment concentration electives, or others as assigned based on program needs.
- Completes student records, logs, and reports as required, including mentoring and assisting students with Portfolio preparation.
- Participates in weekly employment team meetings, as well as department and university training events, as required.
- Affords assistance in work site development, problem-solving conferences dealing with field work issues of those who have violated procedures or are otherwise in difficulty.
- Affords support in planning and implementing appreciation events and supporting student interviewing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, Human Services field, or related field with relevant experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of previous experience in workforce or related field.
- Must be able to be flexible with work hours, including weekend and evening hours.
- Will require some travel on public transportation.
Essential Skills
- Ability to move or lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Constant computer work/data entry.
- Heavy phone usage, with long periods of sitting and standing.
- Ability to travel on public transportation.
- High percentage of time working with students and staff in a meeting format.

Compensation and Benefits
- The salary range of the grade for this position is $19.71/HR to $27.60/HR annually.
- Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
- Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
