JJYS Technician II- Washington County Youth Center

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with youth ordered into the care and custody of JJYS
• Monitor visitors and residents within the facility
• Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth
• Auxiliary the Control Supervisor by making perimeter checks
• Resolve potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and the public
• Apply appropriate intervention techniques to people, facilities, and property
• Participate in one week of New Employee Training within the first 90 days after hire
• Participate in one week of verbal and physical de-escalation training
• Transport youth offenders while ensuring public safety
• Provide a continuum of intervention, supervision, and rehabilitation programs
• Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing

Qualifications

• Willingness to be part of a thriving team focused on changing young lives, supporting families, and keeping communities safe
• Availability to work rotating shifts, days, swing, graveyard, weekends, and holidays
• Candidates 19 years of age or older
• Candidates with a high school diploma or GED
• Candidates that speak multiple languages
• A valid Utah Driver's License
