JJYS Technician II-Decker Lake Youth Center
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with youth ordered into the care and custody of JJYS.
- Monitor visitors and residents within the facility.
- Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth.
- Aid the Control Supervisor by making perimeter checks.
- Resolve potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and the public.
- Apply appropriate intervention techniques to people, facilities, and property.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: Available to work rotating shifts, days, swing, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.
- Preference: 19 years of age or older, high school diploma or GED, multiple language speakers, valid Utah Driver's License.

Risks in this job include physical intervention with clients in order to de-escalate hostile or volatile situations. Work requires physical exertion and the ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
