About the role

The JCI Intern reports to the Historical Research Manager and will research WWII veterans' military service, assist with Museum conferences, write articles for the website, and perform other administrative tasks. The main priority is helping the Jenny Craig Institute's Historical Research Services research WWII veterans' military service for family members—locating and studying veteran records and drafting personal narratives using official military personnel files and other records.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and assist with JCISWD public events and programs
  • Assist the Project Manager and Historical Research Specialist with daily operations and administrative tasks, including responding to public research requests
  • Locate, evaluate, and utilize historical records related to veterans' military service; compose personal narratives
  • Conduct historical research on WWII-related topics and author articles for the Museum's website

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in military history or history, museum studies, political science, education, hospitality studies, or a related field
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with others
