Java Tech Lead

This is a hybrid position based in Westchester County, NY.

About the role

Our client is seeking a Java Tech Lead to lead and mentor a team of Java Developers while contributing as a hands-on engineer. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong leadership instincts and the ability to balance technical execution with people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Java Developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical direction
• Actively contribute as a hands-on developer, writing and reviewing production-quality Java code
• Architect scalable, cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Drive engineering standards and promote development best practices across the team

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in a Java Tech Lead, Senior Java Developer, or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Spring Framework
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based solution architecture
• Proven ability to architect and design scalable, enterprise-grade solutions
• Experience leading or managing a team of software developers
• Ability to perform detailed code reviews and provide actionable, constructive feedback

Pay

Starting at $70/hour.
