We are a national staffing firm seeking a Java Software Engineer for a prominent client. This position is located in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO (100% on-site).
Pay
$73.35/hour to start.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (on-site). 12-month assignment with possibility of extension based on performance and budget.
Responsibilities
- Full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, radar management) for Java-based military applications.
- Support the full software development lifecycle: generate design artifacts, implement software changes, participate in design and code reviews, perform software testing, and resolve issues found during testing.
- Actively participate in Agile planning and execution using established processes.
- Develop software requirements and architecture for MDS systems.
- Develop, select, tailor, and deploy integration and test processes, tools, and metrics.
- Execute and document integration and test activities and events.
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically and/or internationally, depending on business needs.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required; a clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active).
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Experience in full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, radar management) for Java-based military applications.
- Ability to implement MATLAB-based algorithms into Java-based software.
- Understanding of software development principles including OOP, design patterns, and testing/debugging techniques.
- Experience working as part of an Agile team.
- Familiarity with Java J2EE or Java Spring.
- Knowledge of server-side development and message passing.
- Experience developing enterprise applications.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.
- Experience with common software development and management tools such as Git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, and Eclipse.
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams.
Qualifications
- Security+ or equivalent certification highly desired.
- Strong analytical, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
