Java Developer with AWS

About the role

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer with AWS for a Contract with a client in Dallas, TX/Tampa, FL/Merrill Lynch, NJ. The ideal candidate is responsible for designing, building, and deploying high-performance REST APIs and cloud-native solutions while ensuring application reliability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications using Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services to support enterprise application requirements.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, and API Gateway.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline to enable automated deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and Product Owners to deliver high-quality solutions in Agile environments.
• Troubleshoot application performance, scalability, and reliability issues while ensuring adherence to security and cloud best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java development with expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS cloud technologies.
• Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, and CloudFormation, along with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications, REST APIs, and distributed Microservices architectures.

Pay

$38.00 to $41.00 per hour
