About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, AWS Cloud services, and Angular to join our dynamic team in Leeds. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid working model, combining remote work with on-site collaboration at our Leeds office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing secure and scalable Java-based solutions for large-scale government digital modernization projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work within a leading IT transformation business, contributing to impactful projects that shape public sector digital services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust Java applications tailored to client specifications.
• Leverage Core Java and Spring Boot to create secure, scalable backend solutions.
• Integrate AWS cloud services such as S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB to enhance application functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components, utilizing AngularJS for UI development.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, manage code repositories via GitHub, and implement DevOps practices to streamline deployment processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot applications using AWS CloudWatch and other tools.
• Contribute to technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and stay updated on emerging technologies to continually improve project outcomes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Java development, specifically with Core Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience working with AWS cloud services such as S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with AngularJS, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Docker, and containerization technologies (considered a plus).
• Relevant professional certifications such as AWS Associate Developer accreditation (highly advantageous).
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
