This is a full-time, hybrid role based in NY with no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend applications built using Angular (v21+).
- Work with MongoDB, DB2, Snowflake, and Elasticsearch for data modeling, querying, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins for automated builds and deployments.
- Write unit and integration test cases, following structured testing and development practices.
- Apply strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Implement security best practices, OAuth2, JWT, and API security.
- Drive technical decisions, code quality initiatives, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across teams.
- Troubleshoot production issues and enhance system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and product managers.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and RESTful API development.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB.
- Experience working with Angular (v21+).
- Familiarity with Kafka, IBM MQ, or other messaging systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Jenkins.
- Experience in writing unit tests and following structured testing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical hands-on experience working with AI.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).
- Exposure to performance tuning and application monitoring tools.

Pay
The base compensation range for this role in NY is $106,230 to $145,000. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as geographic location, education, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on position and applicable laws.
