About the role
UST is seeking experienced Java backend developers to join a multi-vendor, multi-geo team building a NextGen high-scale enterprise application. Key responsibilities include handling device communication protocols, ensuring high availability, designing RESTful APIs, implementing event-driven architectures, deploying services using Docker/Kubernetes, and managing CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Handle device communication protocols, data exchange, and real-time event processing
- Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in device interactions
- Design RESTful APIs for device orchestration and enterprise integration
- Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka / ActiveMQ for real-time device events
- Deploy and manage services using Docker/Kubernetes, and Helm
- Build CI/CD pipelines with automated deployment strategies
- Work with Cloud services and API Gateway for scalable integrations
- Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito
- Perform end-to-end validation of hardware-software workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- 9+ years of experience with hands-on experience in software/system design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of complex backend Java programs
- Strong expertise in Java (17+)
- Microservices & REST API design
- Experience with Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), Logging, and incident management
- Comfortable working in Linux environments
- Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication (written & verbal) skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team
Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, BigQuery, and Looker
- Comfortable working in cloud environments
- Ability to articulate past projects and perform on-the-fly troubleshooting
