About the role

This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur.

Responsibilities

  • Teach evening, distance, and in-person classes primarily on the Bremerton and Poulsbo campuses, and at the Shelton campus when requested.
  • Teach college-level courses in accordance with the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines.
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
  • Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
  • May include evening instruction and/or instruction at satellite campuses.
  • Punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Japanese language or literature from an accredited College or University, Previous teaching experience, Near native-fluency, Instructors should have the ability to teach Japanese I, II, and III, Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Desirable Qualifications: College-level teaching experience, Experience with Canvas Learning Management System.

Conditions of Employment

  • Background check including criminal record history will be conducted.

  • The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring.
  • Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
