About the role
Location: Blair, Nebraska
This is a 2nd shift position with hours ranging from Monday to Friday, 3pm–11pm (2pm–10pm negotiable).
Responsibilities
- Work in a team-oriented, safety-conscious environment; adhere to all company and site safety guidelines and procedures, including PJHA process and Observation process.
- Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, restrooms, and public areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Remove trash from offices and other work areas.
- Strip, wax, and burnish floors; clean and maintain carpeted floors; scrub ceramic tile floors.
- Assist other service personnel with minor facility service repairs.
- Use hand tools and cleaning machinery such as floor sweepers and brooms daily.
- Follow established routines and perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Comply with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Meet performance expectations, including employee development planning.
- Communicate with team members to support short- and long-range planning aligned with company goals.
- Maintain personal tools required for the job.
- Meet physical requirements of the job and maintain good attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
- Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
- Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
Requirements
- Two years’ experience in janitorial or custodial applications is desirable.
- Ability to observe details at close range.
- Control precision: quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machinery or vehicles to exact positions.
- Manual dexterity: quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
- Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
- Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
- Communication and expression: effectively communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Information ordering: arrange things or actions in a specific order or pattern according to rules.
Work environment
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Pay
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
