About the role

The Janitor delivers high-quality cleaning services, often requiring interaction with clients and prioritizing work based on their daily needs. This role involves working in high-traffic sites or as an individual team member, where daily client interaction and responsiveness to requests—within the scope of work—are essential. The Janitor works directly with clients daily, maintaining strong relationships while executing cleaning tasks and fulfilling client requests. A broad knowledge of cleaning and janitorial processes is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent cleaning services while interacting with clients and addressing their needs.
• Prioritize and execute daily cleaning tasks in high-traffic or individual work environments.
• Maintain strong client relationships through daily communication and responsiveness.
• Demonstrate expertise in cleaning and janitorial processes.
• Exhibit strong customer service skills and the ability to lead or contribute solutions to diverse challenges.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the manager.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and move containers up to 49 pounds.
• Frequent walking within and around facilities throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 10–12 hours.
• Ability to follow detailed verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and chemical handling documents (typically in English; Spanish versions provided where required by state law).
• Effective communication with internal and external clients.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

KBS uses the mobile time-tracking software KBSPresence to accurately record work hours, manage attendance, complete required training, and distribute job-related information. All non-exempt employees must download and use the KBSPresence app on their personal mobile devices to clock in/out for shifts and breaks. Reimbursement for cell phone usage is offered in accordance with applicable local laws to support the use of personal devices for work tasks.

Pay

Starting salary: $18.00 per hour.
