Janitor/Porter

About the role

The Janitor/Porter at Timber Ridge at Talus is responsible for maintaining floors and carpets within the community, picking up and removing trash, and performing housekeeping duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains floors and carpets within the Community.
• Picks up and removes trash.
• Performs housekeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of English.
• Previous floor maintenance experience preferred (carpet cleaning).
• At least one year of housekeeping experience.

Qualifications

• Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday.
• Able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day.
• Able to stoop and work from a kneeling position, perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching.
• Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds independently.
• Able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances.
• Able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents.
• May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV, and hepatitis.
• May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals.

Skills

• Basic understanding of English.
• Previous floor maintenance experience (carpet cleaning) preferred.
• Housekeeping experience.

Pay

• $23.50--$24 with experience.

Schedule

• Tuesday-Saturday 3pm-11:30pm.
