JANITOR LEADER (REGULAR FULL-TIME w/ BENEFITS)- CUSTODIAL

Full-time position located in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a working leader for 3 or more janitorial workers, setting the pace and giving direction for cleaning tasks
• Performs sweeping, waxing, stripping, scrubbing, and buffing of Navy Exchange stores and offices using heavy industrial equipment
• Empties garbage; dusts office furniture; shampoos rugs; cleans air vents, mirrors, and disinfects toilet bowls, lavatories, urinals, and water fountains
• Washes walls, glass doors, and main partitions; sweeps parking lots and cleans sidewalks of adjoining buildings
• Replaces toilet tissues, soap, paper towels, and other supplies
• Demonstrates proper work methods and requisitions cleaning supplies
• Secures stores and offices after cleaning
• Cleans and maintains machines/equipment, makes adjustments, and performs minor repairs
• Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor for corrective action
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Flexible schedule
• Six months of experience performing cleaning tasks using industrial-type cleaning equipment

Physical Demands

• Moderately heavy physical effort, occasionally moving, setting up, and working from ladders and scaffolds
• Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing about 40 pounds; occasionally lifts objects over 50 pounds

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoors in areas with adequate heat, light, and ventilation
• Occasional exposure to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions
• Risk of serious injury from electrical shocks or falls from ladders/scaffolds

Schedule

Full-Time (35+ hours per week)
