About the role
The Housekeeper creates and maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors by performing routine environmental services throughout the facility. This position is responsible for cleaning client rooms, clinical and administrative areas, common spaces, restrooms, and other designated areas while following infection prevention, safety, and organizational standards to support quality patient care and facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Clean client rooms and replace linens following discharge in accordance with established procedures and required timeframes.
- Stock bathrooms and other designated areas with clean linens, toiletries, and required supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks accurately and timely using established checklists and documentation tools.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies in accordance with manufacturer instructions and company procedures.
- Observe and follow all safety procedures and practices.
- Follow all infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene, Standard Precautions, and isolation precautions.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality while performing assigned duties.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information.
- Complete all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Housekeeping experience preferred.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently with routine supervision.
- Ability to gather and analyze information to solve problems.
- Ability to effectively handle crisis or risk situations and respond appropriately.
- Working knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection prevention practices, and environmental services procedures.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and utilize cleaning chemicals appropriately.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while completing assignments efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with clients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch.
- Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds; seldom carry up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Primarily operates in behavioral healthcare treatment facilities and office environments.
- Regular cleaning of client rooms, clinical areas, offices, common areas, and restrooms is required.
- Employees routinely work with cleaning chemicals, housekeeping equipment, and infection prevention supplies.
- Local or regional travel may be required based on operational needs; employees may be required to provide reliable transportation.
- Employees may be exposed to communicable illnesses and emotionally sensitive or traumatic situations while performing the essential functions of the position.
Pay & Schedule
- Location: 100 Upper Demunds Rd, Dallas, PA 18612
- Shift: Sunday – Thursday, Days Off: Friday and Saturday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
- Pay: $15/hr
