Janitor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Laundry Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an adequate supply of clean linens for the comfort and care of all residents.
  • Inspect linens regularly and remove damaged or stained items from service.
  • Collect resident laundry daily or as needed.
  • Label new residents' clothing as needed.
  • Sort, treat, wash, dry, fold, and organize clothing and linens.
  • Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms promptly.
  • Follow all infection control, sanitation, and laundry procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
  • Operate washers, dryers, and laundry equipment safely.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns to the Administrator.
• Janitorial/Housekeeping Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces.
  • Empty trash and replace liners.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in janitorial or laundry services preferred. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment. CPR certification is preferred but not required.
