Janitor - 3rd Shift

About the role

Join the team at Kewaunee Fabrications as a 3rd Shift Janitorial team member. This is a steady, hands-on role where your work makes a difference every day.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the professional appearance of all production areas of the physical plant and maintain washroom and lunchroom supplies (administrative offices excluded).
• Empty trash, including paint as needed.
• Maintain debris-free aisles.
• Perform indoor and outdoor debris checks and cleanup.
• Participate in recycling according to established guidelines.
• Operate powered and non-powered cleaning equipment.
• Perform daily routine maintenance inspections of cleaning equipment to ensure reliability and effectiveness.
• Assist in the selection and ordering of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Deliver office supplies as needed to designated areas.
• Operate various equipment in the performance of duties, including a forklift, sweeper, and compactor.
• Perform eye wash station checks, documentation, and cleaning according to the established schedule.
• Assist with snow and ice removal to maintain safe entry and exit points around the facility.

Additional expectations:

• Complete all required paperwork, including labor reporting and documentation of eye wash station inspections.
• Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping.
• Perform required preventive maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated.
• Train and/or assist in the development of personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; lifting devices are available and recommended.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous janitorial experience or related training.

Pay

Starting base pay of $23.53 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour 3rd shift premium. Wage increases every 6 months until reaching top pay, then annually.

Schedule

3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. Paid lunch and voluntary overtime opportunities available.
