IUOE Air Cond & Refrig Mech A

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of air conditioning (i.e. heating, ventilating, cooling, filtration, humidifying), controls, and refrigeration systems;
• Maintains air conditioning and refrigeration equipment of all types including absorption, centrifugal and compressor units.
• Performs required preventive maintenance on installed equipment.

Qualifications

• High school education and 4-6 years experience as a building heating, ventilating, cooling and controls mechanics;
• The ability to read and write the English language;
• EPA Refrigerant Certification required.

Supervision and Direction

• Receives minimum supervision from department assistant supervisor, supervisor or designated authority;
• Exercises supervision and direction over lower classified trades personnel;
• May guide, direct and train lower classified trades personnel.
